“Oi, kid!” - he actually calls him “little sixth” - probably due to the younger guy being the sixth child in his family and younger, but that is very awkward in English, so I settled for “kid”.

“Defending officer” - I’m actually not 100% sure on this one. I don’t think it’s a proper title, but from the context it seems to be the official in charge of the city’s defenses.

I originally translated “uncle” as cousin, because I’m an absolute dingus and didn’t realize that someone being your mother’s cousin makes them something like your uncle rather than cousin. I am. Not very smart.
